Drakes Drummers Theatre Company - About The Company.

Drake's Drummers are a UK theatre company with a local and national profile.

We do comedy. Based in Plymouth, Britain's ocean city, we employ timeless themes coupled with a highly contemporary twist to create pieces of theatre that deal with the absurd nature of life, literature, politics and everything in between. We work with local actors and technicians to produce original comedy to engage audiences across the region and on a wider scale.

Having begun life in 2014 with their debut production of Shakespeare's Avengers Assembleth at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Drake's Drummers have gone from strength to strength. Following the success of Shakespeare's Avengers Assembleth the company were commissioned by New Model Theatre to produce 'The Shodyssey' as part of the inaugural Outpost Festival, a sell out across it's run. The company briefly reprieved Avengers in the South West in 2015 before moving on.

In 2015 Drake's Drummers worked locally on Dependence Day for the Plymouth Fringe, before producing Shakespeare's Avengers Assembleth: Age of Oberon for Greenside Venues at the Edinburgh Fringe 2015. Broadway Baby said "It's incredibly funny, it won't matter if you only know one Shakespeare play or all thirty seven; you will find something to amuse you in Drake's Drummers Theatre Company's original, well crafted, wonderfully silly script." - **** Shakespeare's Avengers Assembleth: Age of Oberon is currently on UK tour. Drake's Drummers are also currently in the planning phase for the first waterfront theatre festival in the South West in Plymouth.
